Need rear hatch glass
Hey y'all, I've been enjoying the Blazer topless here in Hawaii for the last few years and its been awesome. The problem is the damn lawnmowers didn't keep away from my top where I had it stored. So now I have to replace the rear hatch glass. Something I am noticing that is not that easy to get anymore. So far it seems my options are
1. Get a template from some nice member of the classic car community and have a local shop cut and temper one. If they will do that, i hear liability might be an issue for some shops. 2. Find someone with a rear glass they can sell and ship to Hawaii$$$$$$$$ Anyone have the ability to help with option 1 or 2, or have an awesome option 3??

Re: Need rear hatch glass
Any decent glass shop should be able to make you a piece for the rear hatch. I have never heard of liability being an issue, but maybe things are different compared to up here in Canada. I have a bunch of glass from my top sitting in my garage. it's 50 years old so I was planning on throwing it in the garbage and getting new stuff cut.

Is any of the glass you have 72 blazer rear hatch glass?? I would pay for your time and shipping if you made a template that I could take to the glass shop.

Re: Need rear hatch glass
its from a 69 blazer, but the hatches are all the same from 69-72. I can definitely do that for yah. I'll have to swing by the shop and grab the glass. can probably get around to it this weekend.

Re: Need rear hatch glass
Why would the liability be different from any other piece of glass they sell?

Re: Need rear hatch glass
could I get you to just trace out the glass on butcher paper for me while you're at it? I'd really appreciate it!

Re: Need rear hatch glass
I would definitely make a few copies of each glass for the future.. That's what I did just to cover myself.

Re: Need rear hatch glass
Too bad I sold my top. I should have made a CAD drawing of it, then it would just be a matter of getting it cut on a water jet.
