71/72 C/10 build

What's up all, I'm new and wanted to get some pics of my project on here. I traded my HD for the 72 to later find out it used to be a long bed and when they shortened it they pretty much ruined the frame. So I found the 71 for $1200 right up the street from my house by chance

below the message block for typing in your message, click Go Advanced - then down to Manage Attachements - if the pics don't fit, they will have to be resized. Save them resized and then put them in.

Re: 71/72 C/10 build

OK here we go finally. The frame is from my 71 because the PO hacked up the 72. I'm going to use the cab and front end off the 72 and the frame and bed off the 71. The burn out pic is the 72 the second one we tore down after the chassis was complete. The before pics are on my profile.

Re: 71/72 C/10 build

Chassis back on the ground and before and after of the tranny and engine. I ran the #'s on the 350 and it said it came out of a 1974 police cruiser but didn't say anything else. I put a cam/lifter set in it. It's still not done but I have roller tip rockers, performer air gap intake, 11in TCI Break Away torque converter, hedman headers, and all the other goodies to complete it.

Re: 71/72 C/10 build

Here is where I am at now. My brother is doing the body work but put it on hold because I had to go buy a bigger compressor, the one I had just wouldn't keep up. I think the sand blaster worked it too hard. I have the cab corners, inner/outer rockers, lower door skins(inner and outer) and fender repair panels. Now I need some floor pans... Any suggestions where I should get them? The rest of the parts came from LMC but I want to go through someone else for the floor.

Re: 71/72 C/10 build

Some left over pics, having fun and my new scrap yard. More to come it's a long cold winter in Michigan. Plenty of time to get things done just have to work some OT to pay for it. Hope you enjoy the build!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
