my dad's 41

He's been trying to restore this truck for the last 8-10 years. Hard to find parts, time and money for him. I hope he can finish it and enjoy it before something bad happens to his health. He's in his 80's...

Here's some pictures.... He does great work....

He also done most of the work on my 69 while in his early 70's...

Re: my dad's 41

Nice looking truck your dad has there. My dad has a 40 Pickup that took him 2 1/2 years to restore. He ran into the same problems finding parts, alot of things he had to make himself or adapt from something else. Now he is helping me restore my 68 and my brother has a 57 waiting to get restored as well.

Some pics of my Dads 40 Chevy hope you enjoy them:

Re: my dad's 41

man that looks nice. My dad would of liked to restore it with a small block, new frame, ac, power everything, but he doesn't have that kind of money, being retired and the cost of living kicking his but and little to no pay raises..
if you know what i mean... I wish i was rich, then it would be finished the way he wants it!!! I just hope he gets to enjoy it atleast for a little bit before it's to late..

Re: my dad's 41

At least your Dad does not know what it means to quit. He will finish the truck and that is inspiration to all of us that trudge along with our projects. I like what he has done so far, good job.

It's the "sticky" at the top of the Pre-47 page that Liz started: "Show us your trucks"
Those awesome trucks really need to be shown off.
Thanks

The guy my dad bought it off of had already done the mustang II ifs and the small block/turbo 350 swap. He had given up on the project and thats when my dad swooped in and bought it. When he brought it home it was a mess, it only had the rolling chassis with the cab and the front fenders on it. The 305 motor ran good and the tranny shifted fine so my dad didnt worry about it. It has no AC and manual steering, both are things my dad wishes he had but doesn't have the money for. We did everything ourselves including the paint and body. Its not perfect but looks dam good for some rookies.

Your dads truck looks really good, he is an ispiration to keep on plugging away and not give up. I will remember that on my truck as it seems sometimes like it will never be done.

Re: my dad's 41

Putting this back on top.. Dad is not doing very well. Doesn't have much time left. I'm going to try to get this thing going before it's to late. Just need a wiring harness and brake lines to get this thing running.. Any good vendors that can help us out on these items. I live 270 miles away and will be driving back and fourth for a couple weekends to work on his truck. Pray for his health!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
