Advise on a patch panel

I have a 66 suburban that has some rear driver side fender damage. Has anyone used a 66 c10 fender as a patch to replace there suburban one?

I was thinking of cutting the c-10 fender out and replace it in my suburban.

Same fender?

You will want to use a patch panel for a '60-'66 short fleetside, bedside.

Re: Advise on a patch panel

I used the truck bed as a patch panel on my suburban I had to cut the top hump and bed rail off. The trucks have a seam below the top hump in the panel and our burbs don't. Also had to add some material to the bottom in front of the tire where the bottom welds to the inner panel. The long bed (coming out now?) would be a better option than the short bed panel. You can see in my pictures that I used the full length of the short bed, and it still wasn't long enough. The rear corner is also going to need to be customized then the panels start curving in the last 10" or so. I did this since my lower area was all rusted and I was side swiped.

Re: Advise on a patch panel

The one issue with using a long fleetside bedside is that the wheel opening is not the same as the Suburban/panel,short fleetside wheel opening.
