my 61 k10 swb/fs has the 0 in vin witch is oakland calif. the plant was built in 1916 and was known as Detroit west. closed in 1963 and moved to freemont. i had a 56 nomad that was built in oakland also. here is my project--

Does anyone know where I can find specs on how wide a front axle is from a 60's C50 truck? I am in the middle of a project and need a narrower front axle for my 66 C60.

I recently bought a 66 C10. The PO advised that the rear axle came out of a 61 and had 308 gears.

Thanks to this thread I located my stamped numbers on the axle. They are, "HB 01 20".
So according to the info listed previously on this thread the PO is incorrect? Did the axle really come out of a 65 and it's 307 geared?

I have a 1964 Chrvrolet C20 pickup that I have been cleaning up. I recently found this information stamped on the engine block. I believe it is saying that my engine is the 292 4.8L straight 6 but am not sure. After looking at my LMC catalog it states that the engine Id code should be PG but I don't see that here. Can someone help me decider what all of this means?

I believe its a Mexican cast or possibly remanufactured 292 (forum search on the casting # popped that up), probably made in the 80's. Can you find a date code?

Thank you for helping me out with this. I am definitely willing to look for a date code. Do you know if it would be close to where I found this information? Also would it look like a date or would it just be a series of letters an numbers?
