Living in the most easterly point of the uk, we've bought a 49 3100 short bed. Bit of a project that's turned out to be a little bit more than first thought. SBC350 with TH350, type 9 with mustang calipers & BMW discs at the rear. Mustang2 front clip, adjustable coil overs. New panels & all painted. Had it 6 weeks now fitted a brake booster under cab, plumbed in the brakes. Fitted uj's from flaming river column to rack. Fitted alternator & made brackets. Lifted engine to remove sump to check & clean. Fitted EZ wiring loom. Pictures to follow

Picture of the truck when I got it. I made up the steering parts at the weekend & fitted that.Today I've been looking at the brake pedal bracket. The chassis has been boxed so where ive fitted the booster it's about 1" further towards the centre. The pedal bracket can fit in the original holes on top of the chassis but I've had to drill 2 large holes in the bottom of the chassis to get a socket on an extension bar to put a nut on the inside. I've cut the bottom part of the bracket off as that was supposed to go inside the chassis, so now I'll weld a piece of angle to it and drill 2 new holes. There's a couple of pictures of the truck when it arrived here from a farm in Kansas

Not sure if I can buy just the top of the filter

I had to modify the bracket a bit more. I cut the top bracket off & welded a wider piece in and drilled 2 new holes. This will allow the bracket to sit 1" further towards the center. I then made up the lower bracket & tacked this on ready to test fit.

Have TH350 transmissions got an oil filter?

Welcome to the board Yoshi. The th350 has a filter inside the sump/pan. Don't forget to order a pan gasket when you order a filter.

Can't say for sure as it may strike the firewall? I think the flexible ones are far better but more costly too!

Hey Yoshi, just looked again at your engine bay photo and I reckon that trans dipstick will fit ok- I've got the same dipstick in my 2nd series and my engine is tighter to the firewall than yours.
