Re: Trail Cam Pics
DPowers,
What make and model trail cam is this? I've had prowlers behind my house and I'd like to get pics of them plus the wildlife I know is back there. |

Re: Trail Cam Pics
That's must be a one heck of a travel corridor you got there.
Is there some kind of food source around? Any barriers? I agree, I always veiw your latest pics and thought long ago that trail cam takes a good vivid pic. I had gotten a cam a while back as a gift and it surely dont take as good of a pic. Keep'm coming when you get'um, alot of us are watchin.

[QUOTE=midniteblues;7826636]That's must be a one heck of a travel corridor you got there.
Is there some kind of food source around? Any barriers? My property borders the French Broad River that originates out of NC and then becomes Douglas Lake. From what I have read, this river is one of the top 5 oldest in the world. The trail cam is set up on pretty slick game trail that runs along a natural ridge. Its pretty rugged along the river, so not as many homes. I check it every weekend but skipped a week because of the snow we had. Will often throw some food scraps out, so will usually get 50-60 pics of raccoons a week. I understand that my neighbors across the river have planted some deer food plots, so am sure getting benefit from them. |

We'll that makes sense, I was always curious as to why you get them all at the same location. I figured there might be a Ridge nearby just because of the rock outcrop. Never heard of that river,no surprise to me though since I'm a home boy as I haven't traveled much of anywhere but I'm very intricate with my homeland just what i perfer. That's alot of coons I've never seen more than a few at a time. They can be quite comical at times Sounds like a sweet place to call home though and some awesome pics, thank you.

They can be quite comical at times To clarify- not 50-60 at one time. Multiple pics of 3-4 at one time. |

Re: Trail Cam Pics
You may not have to wait long on that Panther , A Union county farmer has been reporting calf losses and sightings to the TWRA but they say NO chance of it being a panther ...Same thing they've been saying for years in N west Tn until a few were caught on game cams ...

Re: Trail Cam Pics
Do they still allow hound hunting out your way ? They stopped it years ago here and Bear and Cougar sightings have really increased. I think there is still some special permit hunts. But nothing like it used to be.

Re: Trail Cam Pics
You can hunt bear with dogs here, but not bobcats.
There are alot of rumors of black panthers from old timers here in East TN, but no confirmed sightings of them or cougars that I am aware of. |

Re: Trail Cam Pics
Thought of this thread last night after midnight. Something in the backyard let out a screech, may have been its last? Happens 3-4 times a year. Usually Coyotes killing something but last night, as well as other nights no howls or yipping. Maybe an Owl got something? Wish I had a game cam. Going to look at reviews now.

The past couple weeks I been hearing the same thing. A block down the street at the end of town is a big hollow behind the houses. There must be a few coons down in there carrying on dang near every nite.(perhaps its mating season) I was walking the doggy one nite and heard them from the other end of town which is only 2 blocks away. It's quite here at nite and they are loud echoing up from the hollow. If you don't know what your hearing they can be quite eerie sounding, like screams in the nite. It's amazing how those cats blend in too the surrounding area.

Re: Trail Cam Pics
Bobcat hasn't come through in awhile, then got this pic yesterday. Bear came through a couple weeks ago and thought this coyote was pretty cool.
