58 Fleetside Bed Rail question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I tried to put some pictures to show my problem.I took the 58 apart 2 years ago,and I don't remember witch way the bed rails go on.There are 4 support for the rods for the fender sides,1 in each corner from the bed rail to the fender.The bed rails have a small hole(about 3/8") on just one side of the rails.Do the small holes face the front or back of the truck?

Hopefully this picture of mine helps.
I can see 4 fender braces that will need a hole but can't see any other reason for them.
