Re: battery gage is not working

Have you checked the small 4A fuses located on each side of the radiator? Good place to start.

Re: battery gage is not working

Mine wouldn't work for many years. Then last year I had problems with my tail lights due to a grounding issue so I installed all new ground cables. It started working after that.

Where I placed new ground straps or cables front to rear:

Battery (neg) to radiator support and to the engine.
Engine to the frame and cab at the rear of the engine block.
From the cab to the frame
Bed to the frame

I know it was overkill but I got tired of chasing gremlins. All the lights work better and battery gauge works great now.

Like Shyguy says. There are 2 inline fuses in various locations under the hood near the harness. They are small black rubber & look like wire connectors. Pull them apart & check the fuses. If they are corroded you can replace them with a universal fuse holder.

X3 That's what the problem was with mine. The one on the driver's side is the one for the Batt gauge. I had to replace mine.

Re: battery gage is not working

I had the same fuse issue, replaced the fuses and it started working until I replaced the dash bulbs. I mistakenly put one in the idiot light hole and the gage stopped working again.
