Window Rubber Delete
Has anyone deleted the rubber around the windshield?

Yes and no, I did it on my '46 back in 2000. At the same time I "V" butted the glass. The glass is glued in with a "J" shaped rubber filling the outer edge. It has worked well with no maintenance and no leaks. The glass has to be custom sized to rest on the outer lip.
