What type of air suspension set-ups have you built and/or tweaked? From my experience (steel coils & bag set-ups on my own personal 6X-74 trucks that were done similarly)....

Airbags or steel Springs = harsh or soft ride depending on how they're set-up.
Moderate stance & great handling can be achieved w/either spring type again depending on how they're set up.
Steel coils can be set up w/a good stance (ride height) with about the same fab as bags but won't have the same adjustability.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Are we really going to question the suspension on this truck!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pro touring cars have air ride and handle great!...Lets save the "How to bag a truck 101" questions out and lets see the man build an over the top truck. From the photos so far my guess is the truck will be 110% show quality.

Oh and the only way to go suspension wise on these trucks is Porterbuilt!!!!!!!!!! The days of Zing a frame are long gone and I'm pretty sure this truck has a full Porterbuilt setup.

I've done my own susp work and been in both types. Race cars don't use bags lol nuff said.

Maybe NASCAR does not use air ride but there are tons of protouring cars that are on air and have great suspension response.

quote from post #179 in Project Joe Tourings build thread made by the c10 suspension guru robnolimit of No Limits Engineering

" A spring is just a spring. And, an air spring has a naturally progressive spring rate. I guess the most important thing is getting the right bag at the right hieght to get the spring rate that you want. You can have it all, it just takes a little homework. To be honest, we fix air ride systems every week, and 99.9% of all problems can be tied to parts choice, or installation. Shocks and sway bars are still important. "
