Master cylinder question

Hello all ... I just bought a new MC/booster combo from Summit and as I was inspecting it out of the box I noticed the retaining rings that hold the lid down were loose and the lid doesn't sit down tight. Is that normal? The OEM MC on my truck now is pretty tight. I don't want to install everything and have to end up taking it all off and sending it back. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Re: Master cylinder question

If you're referring to the lid for the MC I have a new one that I planned on using on my '67. The lid is tight on it. Is the gasket under it?

Yeah its the lid for the MC, it has the rubber diaphragm looking seal in it that sits right under the cap but is it supposed to have anything else?

Re: Master cylinder question

I just looked at mine and it doesn't. And it's tight.
