Re: 96 Chevy

Im guessing that you don't have emissions testing in GA?

If you wanted to go back to the stock set up, I know a lot of people pull the FI parts off of those engines to run them in older vehicles. You might be able to find someone who has done the take off and wants to unload the parts cheap.

The intake ports are just a hair smaller than a standard oval so you should be able to get the intake, carb and distributor (with the melonized gear) from the aftermarket.

I just finished my L29 a year or so ago. Bigger injectors, better cam and valve train. She pulls like a freight train with fairly small mods.

What parts got cooked? Id start scouring Junkyards and CL for the parts if your looking to go back to stock. Id assume that the harness was fried but thos can be had from the JY as well.

You! That's crazy. I bet you could find a non runner in the JY or a take off from CL or evilbay. Otherwise, I've read about quite a few that have gone to a carb.
