Is a 4L80E

worth it? I mean I am thinking about putting a auto in my C30 and no more than I would drive it the only one it probably benefit is the next owner. I am building 1/2 tons too so that truck won't be a daily for me if I was to drive one. I have a couple of 400's laying around as well as some 80E's out of later trucks that I've sold the 6.0 from. I know that you have to buy a controller, but being that I think I have like 5:13 gears a auto[OD] is the way maybe to go. Any thoughts?
PS I already have the next hood primed and standing up in the paint booth. I have not yet done anything on this truck except take off the cowl panel and clean out the leaves. Jim

With the 5.13's in it, an overdrive would come in handy. The 4L80E is a tough unit, well worth it.

I would second that.

A 4l80 is worth every dollar to install. We uses the tci controller. No complaints
