5.7L Vortec Intake Breather assembly Gasket
Underneath the breather assembly hose where it connects to the throttle body there is a round orange gasket. Mine is gone.
Does anybody have a party number or where to buy? Mine is gone. 1999 suburban OBS 5.7L RWD. I am getting codes PO171/174 and I am thinking there is where it is sucking air. Thanks |

I normall use spray carb cleaner and spray the areas where I think it is leaking to see if how it run changes. If it does that is where the leak is.

Not gonna find it
Not only is that O ring not available. Neither is the original elbow the oring was in.
Why not just put a bead of RTV around the inner area where the o ring would be and seat it and leave it. When it dries, if you need to remove it, it will peel off and you can always replace it. I noticed the K&N filter assembly has an elbow that attaches to the throttle body. Perhaps they have replacement parts for their assemblies. Part number 57-3013-2 |

Re: 5.7L Vortec Intake Breather assembly Gasket
Take the elbow where the O ring seats to local parts store...they usually have a selection of O rings...try and find a Viton one...usually Orange or Blue,,,rather than a cheap black one....
Just make sure the section thickness is correct....too thin and it wont seal, too thick and it wont fit into the port.... The original O rings haven't been available for a while now...
