Fuse panel color code & other ?'s

Can somebody educate me on this? This may be elementary but I don't confess to be an electrical guru. 85 custom deluxe ( i.e. low option lol).
These empty plugs: I see different categories are color coded ( brown, red, white, etc.)
How is Power different from Bat and Ign?
What is WDO? Heater/Aux?
If I add a circuit sourced from these sockets due they require their own fuse? An inline fuse would be the easiest I assume? Yes, I used fusetaps and I no likey, that's one reason I want to clean things up.
