LQ4 vs NP208

SO i am about to drop my lq4 6.0 into my 4x4 burb with a 700r4 and a np208. The motor should put out about 450-480 hp. What do you think is going to happen to my poor transfer case. What options are there for swaping it out for something stronger that does not require trans removal? Is a 241 any beter at all? And will it bolt up. I have worked on a fuel injected k5 that came with a 241. Any other ideas? Thanks..

Re: LQ4 vs NP208

i think the 208 will hold up fine unless your like power shifting the transfer case i could be wrong here but i think the 241 is the newer version of the 208 and doesn't get talked about much because i thought it came out in 88-89? so didn't have a big run, and are you running fuel injection on your lq4 because i planned on an lq9 on my 91 burban wondering how hard this will all be

I think the 208 will take anything that gets past the 700r4

Ya the 700r4 will have a problem with 400+ hp and a heavy foot before the np208, unless the tc has prior condition issues.

Re: LQ4 vs NP208

The trans is built to handle 500hp so i dont think it will be a problem. I have it carbed with no fuel injection crap. The trans does shift kind of hard it you are on the throttle hard. Not slam you in your seat hard but you know i deff engaged that gear properly.
