68 c10 longbed stepside front and rear spring ?

the weather finally got warm here and i got the cab and bed off! I'm rebuilding the front end right now but I'm needing more info on the springs that I would like to use. (stock height) it came with HD ones but some catalogs have stock, heavy duty, and variable rate. I plain on using the truck as a truck but also don't want to wear a mouth peace when I'm driving. I plain on using gas-a-just shocks. Any help would be great!!

Re: 68 c10 longbed stepside front and rear spring ?

Stock springs for the 68 C-10 were/are rated at 1200 lbs. HD are 1350 each on front and 2000 (coil) on the rear. That is most likely the camper special springs.

From the GM Heritage center vehicle information kit for 1968 trucks .https://www.gm.com/content/dam/compa...olet-Truck.pdf

Most oem 68 Truck info is going to be in that pfd.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Mt first "real truck" was a 67 long bed fleetside with a 327 and power glide and all the bells and whistles that came on a 67. I should have done some work on that truck and kept it but needed kid space at the time.
