Chassis Question

Are the 63-66 c10 frames the same for 67-72 c10? I see that a lot of parts (mainly suspension parts) range from 63-72.

I found a 64 Cab, front end, and Stepside Bed that is in pretty good condition that I can purchase for almost next to nothing. The only thing is, it comes with a 80s frame that the parts are just sitting on (nothing bolted on).

It's easier to find a 67-72 frame where I live than a 63-66 frame.

Re: Chassis Question

Yes the '63-'72 frames are basically the same. However in '67 a few things changed. 1) the frame horns are different to accommodate the bumper. 2) the radiator support frame brackets need moved I believe. 3) The rear cab mount brackets are different. You may be able to use the '67-'72 rubber cushions, I don't know for sure. 4) the '67-'72 frames do not have the radiator support crossmember. I think that is about it.

One more thing. Before you get deep into this, check your state laws regarding a vehicle with a different VIN on the frame than on the cab.
