Show or go?

Is there a purpose for these air bags set up like this or is it just for show? Why do people mount the bags so far away from the axle like the set up on the red c10?Name: Turbod%20Hardbody__2132012115248PM1901.jpg

Re: Show or go?

The further away from the axle the bag is mounted allows for more lift.

Re: Show or go?

He is right the bag on the bar/link far away gives you more lift with a smaller bag,The other two pictures are more of look at me set ups. What most of us on here use is http://www.porterbuiltfabrication.co...arting-at-1900 or http://www.kplinks.com/product.php?p...&cat=98&page=1

Re: Show or go?

Also the further away the bag from the axle the smoother the ride.

A bag on bar is more for ride, but compromises load holding.

A bag on axle is better for hauling, but gives a rougher ride by comparison. Not as bad as springs, but worse then bag on bar.

Both the example figure they are set up optimally.

If I were to bag my truck I would use a bag on bar, but with the bags as close to the wheels as possible. That way I can get the best of both, with out to many compromises.
