Tim
I would say the we is Fastenal. I have gotten pretty much the same notice from them although this one has expanded to CO. Seems they have gotten overwhelmed in these areas. They tell me it is subject to change and to still request quotes when needed in case something changes on their end

Re: Attention

Who does Fastenal recommend as the alternative vendor in those locations?

Re: Attention

They will still deliver all parts to Fastenal stores in these States, just not Third party shipping items. They won’t concern themselves with who is is going to 3PS. Forum members should start a thread on shippers that do do this, without gouging. Post them here or please start a thread with a better catch title.
Thanks everyone
Bill. A lot of people out West here. Affects east and west traffic.

Re: Attention

This seems a little sketchy to me. Why would a growing company cut off a major population area at the risk of losing those area's to an alternate supplier? JMHO

That would be true if Fastenal were a shipper, but they started the freight thing to fill their trucks, and supplement income.

Their first priority is to deliver inventory to their stores. Apparently the freight was interrupting shipments of store inventory.

Re: Attention

So they will still ship "out of these" states, just not "into"? Personally, I find them too inconvenient to use and have never used them for that reason.

Re: Attention

WE use them for shipping some, but mostly because we drive right by the store. and deal with them regularly.
