Motor: 6.0 LS out of 2003 Heavy duty2500
Trans: out of same truck 4L80E
Rear end: 71 Chevy 4:10's
AC: On 71

I bought gas 3 weeks ago and have drove my truck so far 326 miles as of this morning coming to work. I have just under a 1/2 tank left. I should be able to go the next week without buying fuel.
When I do though it will be close to 42 gallons and todays price of $2.27 which = $95.00.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

$2.27....seriously... man that's a deal. Its closer to $2.70 a gallon here in mid-Michigan... probably 2.80 or 2.90 now that the weekend is near.

Re: How much money have you spent for gas in a week

Just filled the 69 to go to the Brothers truck show in LA. 38 gals at $3.69 =$140. Truck has a fuel injected 385 with AFR alum heads, T400, GV OD and 4:10 gears with 35 in. tires. The truck gets 12 to 15 MPG depending on how I drive

If I spent $1,200 in a week on gas going nowhere I wouldn't be posting about it on the internet. I would take my next $1,200 and put it into my truck to make it get proper mileage.

Local gas prices for you. I used my wifes BI-LO card the other week and got gas for $1.80 for her Treverse.

Re: How much money have you spent for gas in a week

2015 Hot Rod Power Tour

+/- $500
+/- $2.80/gal
+/- 172 GAL
+/- 19 MPG (LOTS of traffic, idle time, at least an hour + for each tank.)
3,424 Miles Total
It was approximately 900 miles to get there, then we averaged ~250 miles per day, then 700 miles home.
1965 Mustang - 289, T5 - 5SPD OD, 2.80

If you take away all of the idle time per tank, my car can get 20-21mpg cruising, in SC gas is only 2.45/gal... so for $1,200 I could drive my car over 10,000 miles!

Re: How much money have you spent for gas in a week

Not in a classic but my record is $1368.53 in 4 days after adjusted for international transaction fees. Drove from Healy, AK to Lilburn, GA from 12/29/12-1/2/13 in my 2011 Silverado 4x4 pulling a utility trailer for about 1/3 of the trip (broke an axle and had to leave it somewhere on the Alcan) Craziest 82 hour ride of my life...

As for averages with my old green 72, it was my DD for several years and I got an average of 8-9 mpg with the Holley carbed 383/700R4/3.73 and I drove about 40-50 miles a day like any retarded 19 year old in a fast toy would. That was 2000-2002 when gas was hovering around a dollar a gallon so I was looking at about $35-40 a week. I did the math one time with today's prices and about had a heart attack... $400+ a month!
