High speed handling should be a "non-issue", since you should not be driving it locked in on hard pavement anyway. That jumping and lurching will damage something. Many times it an axle joint, but not always.
I ran a Torsen in the Dana44 front of my 74 K20 along with a Detroit locker in the 14bolt rear.
It performed well even with 40" tires, which are over the recommended size.
