Rear disc brake kits?

Was looking on Baer and wilwood brakes' webpages, and it appears that they don't have brake kits for 88-98 trucks anymore! What gives? Anyone know where to find good brake kits for these trucks? Looking. To upgrade my brakes this year some time to go along with upgrade in wheel size.

SSBC make them but then we don't know anything about your vehicle.

Has an option of using Wilwood calipers. Don't have to remove the axles when installing.

Backing plates, calipers and rotors from a NBS. Re-drill axle flange to fit new backing plates. Bolt everything up. If your 2wd then modify the rotors for the 5x5 bolt pattern. Been running it on my truck for a couple years now. I went with tahoe 2 piston calipers.

You're still going to have to pull the axles to remove the drum brake backing plates. No way around that fact. There used to be an ad in the back of magazines that advertised tsmmfg.com. They essentially advertised a similar kit twenty plus years ago.

I like this idea. What is the difference between the NBS flange and the OBS flange? Just curious. There is a template contained in speedy's post about OBS measurement of 3.55 x 2.84.
I probably have between 150K-200K on my conversion and I would do it again. I think it's a very worthwhile mod for both maintenance and performance.

I basically had to drill the original holes in the flange off center to line up with the new backing plate holes. I had pictures up but can't find the thread I'll dig them up soon. Also need to space the plate out with some washers. Otherwise that's it.

I got a kit for the rear through summit racing from ssbc. Based off a 1990s thunderbird. They are a little small, but work good. If you do order the kit make sure it comes with the high pressure master cylinder. but you won’t get any improvement without the upgraded master. I bought a front kit off azproperformance ,it’s based off a c-5 corvette and is awesome. But does require heavy duty drop spindles that you need to modify, on the kit I got.These 2 kit are the most affordable. Unless you just want to do drilled slotted front rotors and redstuff brakes,that you can get off eBay or Amazon and ssbc for the rear. Check out my build. I did a full right up on both. I also added hydroboost and removed the abs. But I have a 1990. 1st and 2nd pic are rear. 3rd and 4th pic are front. 5th pic shows upgraded ssbc master and my own built hydroboost. Make sure you check out azproperformance.com. They are constantly adding brake kit for our trucks. They may have better priced kits depending on your year.

In the last pic, the round part of the master cylinder should be sitting inside the brake booster. There should not be any threads visible between the booster and the master cylinder.

Either the master cylinder is for the wrong application, or the booster is wrong.

Gmt800 trucks have a larger opening at the front of the booster. Maybe you could try one of those.

I realized that the hydroboost hole was a little small. I couldn’t return the hydroboost so I made an adjustable rod that goes between the master and the hydroboost. It looks funny, but it’s mounted rock solid. I am still planned on installing an aluminum spacer to fill in the gap.

That looks good.

The C3500hd(15,000 GVW) trucks had a spacer similar to that from the factory.
