Roof Panel and Drip Rail Replace in DALLAS

I like the "patina" in my truck but I really need to replace the roof panel and drip rail. Can anyone recommend a good and affordable shop to do the work in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

I don't know that I will every fully restore my truck, because I just want to use it as a truck for now. However, I want to do this part right in case I ever change my mind.

Re: Roof Panel and Drip Rail Replace in DALLAS

the problem is finding drip rails. I bought a set for my doors and they did not fit because they are not made correctly. I bought from GMC Paul and they told me there was only 1 Manufacture that makes all drip rails reguardless of who sells them. the refunded my money after I showed them pictures of why they were not made right.

Re: Roof Panel and Drip Rail Replace in DALLAS

Good to know. My drip rails actually aren't too bad, so they may be salvageable. The roof panel is bad and just filled with bondo by the previous owner. That has to get cut out and welded in new.

Any shop recommendations are appreciated.

Might be faster & easier to clip the roof off & weld a donor on. A lot easier in some cases.

Seems like the best way to to go especially if you are hiring out the work to an experienced body guy.
