Dang! It's a Velocity/MotorTrend channel show called Texas Metal. They found a 1970 chevy ramp truck/suburban ( the picture ). In the next 3 episodes, they're going to convert this truck to a high-end crew cab deisel dually long bed.

First one to air Wednesday 12/26/2018 at 8pm CT. Have not idea how it will end up, but it is a ramp truck, dual cab to start!

Re: Interesting TV build coming...

Ok, thanks klb. I haven't been too impressed so far - good skills, jut not my taste though, that's all.

Wonder why there isn't a Graveyard Trucks series yet... we all know there are folks out there doing that to 67-72 chevs. Hmmm. Oh, I forgot, we all have day jobs . But seriously, I do wish there was a good truck resto/hot rod show out there. Trucks! on whatever the network is called now, seems to be about 80% re-runs anymore.

Yeah I don’t like his style of build

While watching graveyard I had the exact same thought how cool a show with original restorations and talking about all the small differences between the years would be awesome

Re: Interesting TV build coming...

"Farmland Truckers" coming to the new Motor Trend channel in 2019!

Season 1: individual episodes of JoesJunk's trucks
Season 2: Eric's Chevyland tour a little bit each episode
Season 3: Rene's past and present C10 King gems
Season 4: Hmmm... lots of material out there.

(before anyone goes looking this up on the internet, I'm just kidding. I WISH this was a real show ).

After what they did to the brand new ZL1 Camaro, I doubt I’ll ever watch that show again.

Re: Interesting TV build coming...

Funny how are perceptions all differ. I actually like Texas Metal guys. They don't usually build in a style I like, but it really seems like he knows what hes doing and I find that interesting. As far as the Camaro I don't really like em anyway. They have a cool drivetrain, but the rest of the car hasn't grown on me since they went to that body style.

If they had a Graveyard trucks and the main dude was like Mark Wormhole ... I would do the same thing and just fast forward through him. Love the Mopars and the skillset, but that guy ... ugh!

Don't you be accusin' me of havin' no job jocko. I tried workin' and didn't care for it.

Oh yeah, I watched the show. I can't figure out why they didn't just get a Suburban and do it the way it has been done before. They didn't use any of the truck they started with anyway.

Re: Interesting TV build coming...

I of course didn't mean you specifically.. My first boss used to tell me "ok you slackers!, from now one we're only workin half days, 12 to 12, you pick which half"
Yes, I have to admit, I recorded it. But then again, when I was growing up in good 'ol Gary, Indiana - we used to sit on the porch and wait for car accidents to happen at the intersection. (we saw quite a few)

The story of my life. Up until I decided I didn't like working that is.

LOL! They seem to be keen on keeping the dash and A pillars. The Barrett Jackson guy might decide to replace even those!!

EDIT: His name is Cisco [sp]

Re: Interesting TV build coming...

Should be up on Motor Trend On Demand, but the episode might not be available for a while. I opted for the premium subscription.

https://www.motortrendondemand.com/s...etal/88275532/

There have been at least 2 other 67-72s on the Motor Trend shows. Hot Rod garage built a 67. Cut it down to a short bed, all new suspension, crate engine. Roadkill Garage put a blower on it. Roadkill garage did another one they put a 630 HP big block in. There was a muscle truck shootout they both ran in. I think that was on Roadkill.

I watched one of the Episodes tonight.
Watched 30 minutes of Denali build
15 minutes commercials
And 15 minutes of the Chevy Crew Cab build.
Maybe next episodes will show more.

I have most of the car shows set to record. That way I can zip through the commercials. Can easily knock out several episodes that way. And on Grave yard cars I can zip through every part Worman is in =)

I have been watching this build the last few weeks. I'm not a fan of air ride (which they put on everything!!!) But they seem to be doing the build right..
