Re: K30 short box?

nope never seen one in production stuff .

seen a few custom made ones .

this is my old 79 k30 that started life as a 135" wb c&C flatbed . then years of plowing / rust belt salt and time made the back half to thin to work with . so i bobbed it down to around 110" wb and had to move the fuel tank up in the tool box and flip the 56" rear springs backwards to suck them under the cab more to clear it all . the flat bed went from 8ftish down to 5ft 3" when done and only around 3ft with the jumbo tool box was usable . i had to make a 500lb ballast weight for the back end for the weight of my fisher 8ft plow on the super short wheel base .

i will say it was great turning radius and nimble plowing but i sure missed the long wheel base for every day use and ride quality .

that weight is a 15" tall 9ft long I-beam cut in 2 for a 4.5foot length and welded together width wise . 2 d-rings welded on and used to strap it down to the bed pocket rails and she never moved at all .

Re: K30 short box?

That's the idea, like the nimble plowing, a lot of work there. Guess keep working on what I have, hard to justify even that with the little snow so far this year.

Re: K30 short box?

yep we got a 9-12" dump in november and then a few trace amounts and sleet today thats it this season . my lawn is crusty on top after yesterday and today . but i still wouldnt drive a vehicle on it for fear of breaking threw and making a mud pit .
