Question Picture/mystery: What the heck are these pieces?

When I picked up my car a year ago (a 57 Bel Air), my Dad had a lot of old parts and pieces in boxes, on shelves, etc. I threw it all in boxes and brought it home with me. All of it I was able to identify... Old generators, the old PS components, voltage regulators, etc...

But, there were two pieces that I brought back, that I can't ID... Frankly, I had forgotten about them until a couple days ago... What the heck are these?:

I wouldn't think they were part of the car at all, except for the one bolt head that appears to have Chevy "engine orange" paint on it.

The two items in this picture appear to be identical in shape, size, etc.

It is possible these are NOT '57 Bel Air parts, but rather pieces off his '52 Chevy pick-up. I've poked all around the car and sure can't see anything else like these. Some folks on another forum have suggested these may be bumper brackets...

Any ideas guys?

Yea those are bumper brackets probally off your dad's truck. How many of them do you have? Just those 2 or 4? I think those 2 go on one side, then 2 more just like those go on the other side. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. We have a 54 chevy and 54 gmc pickup along with several other 47 - 53 trucks at my grandpas...and they have brackets just like those.
