Re: 74 K/5 Screamin Green

Do you know what the paint code for the blazer is? It looks like the same color as my 76 which is medium lime or spring green.

Re: 74 K/5 Screamin Green

the best thing i discovered today is.... i will most likely have to redo the drivers quarter install and re do the rocker..... i messed it up somehow.... after looking over the pass side and seeing how it all fits i screwed something up so the front of the rear quarter is out about 5/8 inch too far.....

Re: 74 K/5 Screamin Green

I picked up a section of floor from a donor K5 on Friday, so I can repair the rear floor above the hinges. . I did MAJOR surgery yesterday..... removed the quarter.... discovered some hidden cancer. Busy busy busy. whats nice it even after removing the quarter. the door still shuts perfect even with only the door frame on the truck.

Also i received my carpet samples for the interior... I have them set on the dash with the seat in the background.... i think the darker olive is the best match ( the one on the right)

Dash pad looks really good and dark olive matches well. Is that por 15 your using to coat everything?

Re: 74 K/5 Screamin Green

got the rear quarter mounting areas all reconstructed and POR'ed read to re mount the wheel tub and begin to test fit the new quarter.
i didnt realize the corrugations of the floor were not uniform. it seems the outside ribs are wider. i have enough of the OE floor material to make one side... but have to cut and weld the material to achieve the proper spacing... see last pic

Re: 74 K/5 Screamin Green

well the passenger side is basically complete the panel lined up but i had to alter the after market rocker due to the rocker being slightly (3/16ths inch) narrower than the truck needed to have the "B" pillar parallel all the way down... and fabbed up a lower splash shield between the rocker and the rear support....
I sliced and filled the gap with the welder and a scrap, I encountered the same issue when doing the drivers side... among other fitment issues that I will tackle once i have the fuel tank back in the truck and can turn it around....
but here ya go.... it looks like a truck again... the factory QP went on very smooth...

Re: 74 K/5 Screamin Green

removed the left read quarter yesterday and adjusted the B post and such since i was not happy with the function and fit of the drivers door and the fit of the quarter...
after a few hours carefully removing key areas..i got the door to fit and function great....
today I will repair the tailgate cross brace top as i did on the pass side then place the quarter. PICS to come
