neverfinished's 52 chevy

Hey everyone, I'm Andre and I live in the Austin area. I picked up a 52 Chevy a few weekends ago. Here's a pic on the day I brought it home.

I think it's a decent foundation. The body is in rough shape but so far it's been running good.

Here's a list of some of the things that have been done.

350 with TH350 trans
Camaro front clip with no power steering (???)
Gas tank relocated to under bed

Re: neverfinished's 52 chevy

Ordered a new hood emblem, door handles, window cranks & door panels. Even though my truck is listed as a 52 it had 47-51 door handles. You can also see how rough the body is as well.

Re: neverfinished's 52 chevy

Nice find. Looks to be a much more solid truck than a lot of the builds on here start with.
Good luck on your build.

I'll follow along.

Re: neverfinished's 52 chevy

Spent the entire day installing Dynamat on the roof & doors and some generic sound deader on the floor and cab wall. I did vibration damper, closed cell foam and mass loaded vinyl on the floor and cab wall. Made a huge difference!

Re: neverfinished's 52 chevy

Yours like many others is a mismatch of parts from different years..your doors are 1950 or earlier..in 51 they had vent Windows..but truck isn't that bad for a start..I've seen and own much worse..

Thanks for the info on the doors. It will definitely come in handy when I order parts for it.

Re: neverfinished's 52 chevy

looks like it has a drivers side vent, my guess is the doors are the same year as the cab, 1950 or earlier.

I wouldnt knock the body on that truck, black is a color that shows every little imperfection. if thats what it looks like in black, I think you have pretty nice sheetmetal.

Good looking truck that looks really solid. Subscribed. Any rust? Don't see any in photos you provided. Keep the photos coming. This will be fun. dug

Great looking truck to start with and got better with the things you have done. Keep it running and driving while you have fun with it doing improvements but I wouldn't touch that body. It looks fine like it is.

Nothing major but there is some. Cab corners are probably the worst and will need to be replaced. The floor pan was replaced at one time.

I used Color Coat from SEM. Took 4 cans to do the seat with multiple coats. I also used their vinyl prep spray as well.
