Re: ID this old truck?
I'm building a 53 1/2 ton but I have a 54 Chevy 3600 sitting in the back yard with a few bullet holes in it (I didn't do that). It has the flat bed rails one piece windshield and open drive line with U joints. That seemed strange to me. I'm 99% sure it's stock.

Re: ID this old truck?
You know what's kind of bummed me out? I have no relatives except a mother and a brother. Both my parent were only-children which means I have no aunts or uncles or cousins, and all grandparents are dead and my father is long since passed.
Which means, other than my mom, there's just no one left to ask ANY of this so I'm left asking online about family photos! Once my mom goes I'm it - there's no family history except that which I remember. Oh well, at least I've got the photo! A lot of folks don't even have that kind of connection to their past!

Re: ID this old truck?
That is an important point regarding family history.
Not a good thing to let it slide so best to take the time and seriously try to establish the family tree and the roots and people within it. We had a family reunion a few years ago in Alberta at one of the family farms. It was unbelievably great...there was probably 50-100 people there either family or somewhat connected to family. The trip was probably the best investment with respect to a 'vacation' that we ever made in our lives....noting that average 'cruise ship' vacation is usually forgotten within a few months, lol. Is your Mom in the U.S or still back in Saskatchewan? Coley

Re: ID this old truck?
Family means more to me now than ever. My dad had one brother and he had one son. Both are gone. Also, their dad ran off when the stock market crashed in '29, so never knew that grandfather and no history of my last name, other than they came up this way from Kentucky. On my mom's side there is an incredible amount of knowledge of our past... all the way back to the 1600s. But I only met my mom's generation and newer. Both grandmothers and my one grandfather have been gone since no later than my teens.
