Dual Exhaust Routed UNDER the Transfer Case - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Is anyone running dual exhaust on a '73-'87 4X4 with the passenger-side pipe running UNDER the transfer case and crossmember instead of ABOVE the transfer case? Any pics?

I always run both pipes over the transfer case cross member. It's real simple. I always run headers and have pipes made that I can bolt on to run the truck to the exhaust shop and they take it from there.

Thanks, Special-K. I got my truck over to the exhaust shop (finally) and took some pictures that Todd (Frankentruck) emailed me a while back so they could route it over the T-case like his. It will work, but it's a tight fit. I asked the exhaust shop to just give me enough room to clear the starter in order to R&I it when necessary. I hope it all goes well.

Anyone else?

No pics, but had plenty of trucks with big blocks, headers, and 2 1/2" pipes go over the t-case.

Shouldn't be a big deal, my '79 has headers, big block, dual 3inch pipes... it's all tucked up in there.

That's how mine is. Very bad because it'll just get crushed or broke to sh*t if I ever hit anything. I'll be getting it routed above it if I keep it. It's just bad to do it below...I'll still get a picture if you want though.
