bed length

My next question

Having a hard time finding bed info for my truck.
Need some length measurements for 55.2 to 59 truck.

Thought mine was an 8ft but back of cab to end of frame is only about 7ft 3in. Is this an 8ft or did they make a 7ft in 55? Or possibly had the tip of frame cut off at some point?

Anyone have front mounting bolt to rear mounting bolt measurements?

Re: bed length

Frame doesn't extend past the box. The bumper brackets reach under bed to attach bumper, if so equipped.
Sorry I don't have the measurements you're looking for, but I'd bet you have a long box (8 foot).

Re: bed length

heard there was a 7ft and an 8ft bed in these years. Both with same wheelbase. The 7 would just be shorter behind the rear axle. If so I'm guessing that is what I have.

Just looking to be sure.

Re: bed length

They made 3 sizes of the bed. 77" 86" and 107". The 77" is standard short box, the 86" was longer in front of the rear fender, and the 107" was longer both front and rear of rear fender. Here's a pic showing the 3 beds on cover of the bed manual. Hope this helps...Jim
