How low can I go?
I was just wondering if anyone has any pics of 67-72 longbox that has been lowered as far as it can go... even if it has a c-notch. I own a 1970 custom 10 longbox and i want to lower it. i just want to know what it will look like first so i can decide if i should just do a c-notch or go all out and get a step notch. any help would be appreciated

I have seen so many shortys lowered but I just want to see some longboxs lowered. I think that it will still sit too high in the back end. That is a sweet truck.. i had that on as a screen saver a few weeks ago.

uh....that red one looks like a static drop, so no the crossmember would not be on the ground
 here is my buddys longbed before he cut it down to a shortbed. I believe it was a 2 or 3" drop. |

My truck right now has 2.5" drop spindles on the front and 2" lowering blocks and 2" dropped springs in the rear. It sits about as high as your friends truck I think. I will probably just go ahead and put a c-notch in it this winter. I'm on a tight budget so it's going to take some time. I have to start by buying new headers, new transmission crossmember to get the 3" exaust over so that it is not sitting below the frame, cutting holes in the driveshaft crossmember to get the exaust through and setting the pinion angle. Wow there is alot of work to do before I can get the the stance I want.

Static refers to a non-adjustable suspension, such as springs, spindles, leafs, shackles etc. (NOT airbags or hydros). Hope that helps

Actually, you can go quite a bit lower than crossmember or rocker...

Yup.. that's the plan now. I'm going to do the biggest C-notch I can. The rear end is going to end up sticking through the floor but that will be easy enough to cover and still look good. In a couple years when I'm done school and doing all the suspension work I'll be able to get rims! Gotta keep saving.
