Nice additions fellas. The GMC front looks good on a fleetside but for some reason it looks even better on a stepper to me.

My 72, second pic is of it sitting with the frame on the trailing arms. I’m in the middle of bagging it. Step notch is in, gotta notch the frame a little for the arms to clear, then I’ll box it...

My '68 Chevy C/10 Stepside shortbed came with 17.5'' 6-lug rims. 7.00 x17.5 tires. Rims were 5.25x17.5. Skinny and tall. Went taller in the Mid-Seventies, when the tire shops stopped selling 7.00s, so I went to 8.00x17.5. Got a 1'' lift that way. Spedometer was off by 7%, so I just read it as ''knots.''

Thanks, 25k miles, document through the service records from the dealership. Guy I bought from was the original purchaser and had every oil change done at the dealership and had all the service records.

Here's the grill. The interior of the grill is gray plastic..... I believe that is original. The surround is anodized like the headlight bezels. If you are speaking of the area outside the grill, it's the same as the body color.

I absolutely love you guy's trucks! I'd like to get a step side some day without having to take a second mortgage on the house. Long bed, though. I'm not looking real hard, because my wife is up my nose how we already have a truck...says the woman with 7 sewing machines!

Re: 67-72 stepside pics, 2020 show and tell

Keep them coming folks. There is a square body step side about 10 minutes north of my house that looks to be all original and in super shape. Last week my wife and I were driving by and I said something about stopping to see if it might be bought. Wife asked me what for I already had a project truck and step side.

Told her that was like asking me how many pocket knives I wanted to have. I have probably 40 right now but would always take another one.

That is funny, I know where your coming from, my wife is the same way, one vehicle should be enough, you can only drive one at a time. She has sets of discs like you wouldn't believe. I bought a nice Oldsmobile about 7 years ago and she was Hot, still have it. I found out it was easier to ask for forgiveness than it was permission. I bought my truck the same way about 4 years ago.

7 sewing machines huh? Wow. But now more than one truck is perfectly acceptable, in our world. I have mentioned a time or few buying a small car to fix up for my wife. We both like early VWs. Says we don't need another project. So do I take that to mean I've got a green light to buy one already restored then?
I have enough pocket knives.

When/if I find one I want, I'll have pony up some extra money, because I'm too old go into a project. Going to spend my son's inheritance money. I'm up for small stuff, even maybe paint. I'm dreading having to pull the engine out of the one I have. First of all, it would have to be done in the street, and then how do I get the engine to a shop, since there's no place to rebuild, either. I'm thinking a Chevy crate 454 would be the easiest.

Plastic!? No, Man, It's sheetmetal like everything else, painted black. No plastic in a '67-'68 grille. Plastic was expensive then.
