How many 1954 3100s were made?
Searched here and the net and no luck finding the number of 54 3100s made.
I have seen serial numbers north of 8000 but nut sure its every model of that year. Anyone Know? |

Serial numbers started at 1001 at each plant. I've seen a page somewhere that shows the total production of AD trucks but can't remember where.

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around. |

I've found numbers for every yr except 54-55.1.....

I've wondered that too. Can't seem to find anything out either.
A better question seems to be, how many are still left? The 54-55.1 seems to be everywhere. Probably even more so than the 47-53. |

We may never know how many were made but lots have survived. I think the design improvements helped. I think many 54s came with thick plastic covered wires which may have helped.
