Re: What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Easy. I'm an old rock-and-roller, and I've seen some great concerts when some of the best bands were in their prime.
My favorite concert, though, was Blues Traveler. Most bands just play what's on their albums and jazz it up a little. When Blues Traveler is in concert they're a total jam band. It was the funnest show I've seen.

Re: What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?
I really can't say because I have been to so many great shows big to intimate and great for different reasons.
Ones that are way up there (that come to mind) are Greatful Dead and Allman Brothers at Watkins Glen, NY Jimi Hendrix at Merriweather Post Pavilion, MD Leo Kottke at Mt. St. Mary College, MD sitting right in front of him on the floor with a small group while all the college kids did more chattering than listening. He was playing and speaking for/with our small group of appreciaters Bonnie Raitt & Little Feat at a ball field in Newport News, VA. I saw them play many concerts but the overall experience of this one was very memorable Frank Zappa at Constitution Hall, Washington, DC Ten Years After at Merriweather... MD Greatful Dead at Winterpark, SF CA New Years Eve '76 Been to scores of blues shows that are always fantastic because that's the blues Been to countless bluegrass festivals. Always the best playing That reminds me. I used to go down to Bethesda, MD to see Emmy Lou Harris before she was discovered. We had Uncle Jack Quaintance(sp?) with a farm he put bluegrass shows on and she played there. Her mom lived nearby. I was there with my buddy Downs Thompson who plays fiddle (we were maybe 18 back then) and Jack got Downs playing with her. So, I got to meet her Byrds & Flying Burrito bros at Annapolis, MD I've never been to a bad concert. The best concert ever, that I didn't go to, was The Allman Brothers Band at Filmore East 9/23/1970

I jived in Jax beach during the 70's cutting school and hanging out at the beach surfing most of the time,My sister was a VERY CUTE barmaid at a bar called The Tunnel where Molly Hatchet and Lynyrd Skynyrd played in the early days for door money . My mom worked as a nurse on the night shift so the after party would come to our house at times and it wasn't unusual to find myself stepping over some of these guys passed out on the living room floor and I've heard the story more than a few times of the guys pawning their equipment on Monday so they could keep partying all week and having my mom help them get their equipment out of the pawn shop on Friday so they could play over the weekend. The sound they made considering the equipment of the day was second to none ! Somewhere still packed away I have the original hand made shirts From Molly Hatchet in white stick on letters it says " Who the H*LL is Molly Hatchet ?"

Re: What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Best concert? Hmmm...
Well, best one I saw last week was Tommy Castro & The Painkillers. https://youtu.be/lWyuY0HZnHc Last month, probably our own local harpster, Tony Holiday and the Velvetones at the competition to see which band the Utah Blues Society will send to the International Blues Challange in Memphis in January: https://youtu.be/9BK_Ft1sHdc So far this year, probably Samantha Fish (quality and quantity-I've seen her 4 times in the last 16 months or so) https://youtu.be/2LcWbZk2oDY https://youtu.be/XFluj98nwkc This decade, probably Trampled Under Foot. A family band that is on again/off again, and when their on, their really on! Named after the Led Zepp song of the same name: https://youtu.be/emPZNK_LNuI https://youtu.be/-uc59bvo6_Y But I go to so many shows-on a good week I'll see 3 concerts, so it's kinda hard to say.

Re: What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Foreigner, Heart, Steve Miller and The Eagles at Oakland Coliseum 78 or 79. One of Bill Grahams "Days on the Green" $6 bucks!
or Blue Oyster Cult at the Cow Palace about the same time frame. This was the last laser light show that they fired the lasers right into the crowd! Never had seen anything like it before or since. I saw the same tour in Nashville two weeks later and they shot everything at the ceiling. We heard the Government banned them from blasting the crowd with high powered lasers. or BB Kings 80th birthday party at the House of Blues in Orlando. Once in a lifetime experience.

Re: What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Probably the Kiss Farewell tour (the version around 2000in New Orleans). Other than that, my daughter's first concert I let her go to was called Unsilent Night (in Biloxi, MS), with 3 Doors Down & Shinedown (maybe 2001/2002). Dad lasted longer than her!!

Rocky Gap music festival 1992. 3 day deal with a lot of top country acts as well as a lot of local. Even better I got in free all 3 days.

Re: What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?
King diamond at the trocadero in Phila. In 98.
Practically all of his songs coincides to a haunted story line of his own design. So not only do you get the music but the gory thearatrical stage show was pure entertainment for the sick minded like me. The wife an i both saw him before we were together, we been waiting and waiting to see him together. 2013 Slayer and exodus in reading, epic show before a tragic spider bite took out a original member of the band. 97 Metallica rocking the liberty bell in phila. This was a free show, attendance was so large it was held in the spectrums parking lot. It was here that I learned how people get trampled on in large crowds. I'm 6'2 215 and my feet didn't touch ground for 45min at on point. 99, I was invited along with 148 (i got 2 tickets)others to the navy yard in phila. To attend a private jam session with puddle of mud. Been waiting forever on a affordable young or Dylan show to come around.

Jimmy Hendrix 1969 at the Waikiki outdoor Shell auditorium or was it Led Zeppelin at the Honolulu International Conversation Center? Loud music killed my hearing and memory.

Journey "raised on radio" at the Cow Palace in S.F. Sometime in the late eighties. A lot of the seventies and eighties, hell even the nineties is a wee bit foggy....

Either Nile on their 20th anniversary tour in 2014 (which was also the first time they played in Canada) or Behemoth on the first tour for The Satanist. Both were great shows.
Immolation opening for Cannibal Corpse in 2013 was also cool. Couldn't hear anything for a week after that one. Getting to hang out with Ross and Bob from Immolation was killer.

We hit up a few of nudie bars on the way down. One of which we barely made it through the door before being asked to promply leave. since it was obvious we were up to no good. The driver pulled us rite up too the front door of the elec. Re: What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Gov't Mule was a fantastic show at the Aragon, and there was an insane scene occurring during the show in the crowd.
Pretty Lights is easily the best "live" EDM-type show I went to. Did go to a tiny little local place and see the original keyboard player from the Warlocks play a mini-set on how all music is pretty much the same. Dude melted a lot of minds at that show...

Foreigner and Cheap Trick in the early eighties, also Van Halen, all great! The best one was purchased for me by my daughter, AC/DC in the Tacoma Dome in Feb 2016, one of the last shows with Brian Johnson as lead singer!!

Re: What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Ok Im the weird one. I went to a bunch of concerts in the 70s people you would all know. But I actually ended up hating going to concerts. I hate dealing with the people in the crowds. You pay a pretty good chunk of change to go to a concert. Its not just the cost of the tickets. I'm a non drinker non drugger and it seems like I always end up by the stoned drunks. Same reason I stopped going to sporting events.
My wife and I did try going to some smaller venue outdoor summer concert series show, Chris Issac and similar shows. I just want to sit in the sun and enjoy the music. I swear we always got some hippy chicks and guys that want to stand in front of the whole show, arms up in the air and just spinning around. I get it, that's their way to get in tune with the music, same with the drunks and stoners, that's how they get in to it ... I just hate it when it ruins my experience. So I stay home =)
