18" Boss 338 Wheels

So hopefully I posted this in the correct forum...

I have a 1986 SWB Chevrolet Silverado and I have decided to save for some new wheels.

I want the 18" Chrome Boss 338's.
18x8 in front and 18x9.5 in the rear

Can someone please provide me with the correct backspace needed for the 18x8 & 18x9.5?

Below are the links to the wheels I want from Summit Racing. They are in my price range and im very eager to get them purchased!!

There is no 'one' right answer to your question. There is a back-space range that will work on these trucks. You could utilize 3.5"bs all the way to 5.25" in the front.... it really depends on the look you like. Common BS amounts would be 4-5" on a 8" wheel. I personally like the wheels tucked into the fenders (w/o being buried in them) so I'd do 4.75 to 5".

But, this info is moot.... The Boss tech info I've seen only gives 1 BS option for 18x8's in a 5x5 pattern @ 4.517". Not enough for me but it's really close & works good enough for most. Same deal on the rears.... Boss lists 5.031" as the only available BS for the 18x9.5's. That will fit & clear w/o issue.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: 18" Boss 338 Wheels

there has got to be a thousand guys with the same wheel on their squares, I would try asking the question in the 73-87 section. more guys look there than in the suspension section.
