Hi Gang, Got A " what is this " question

Ok, My Brother had this, he says for about 30 years. The questions are:

1. What is it ?
2. What year did it go to ?
3. And does it have any value ?

Done, Ordering paint. Got paint, Stuff painted,Cab,Fenders, Hood more later. 9/7/2015 Got the clear coat on,now time to take one off. Started to put things back (What a nightmare) like the heating and AC stuff, inside wire harness, outside AC unit and booster, still more. May 2016, still working on the inside. Got duck work in,heating and AC. Radio (stock) in dash with after market in console later, Speaker are hooked up, Steering column is in. Getting ready to drop the cab onto the frame, Working on engine now since I have the room. Well here it is 2018, got the engine in and it runs, now I need to get the exhaust system in so I can adjust the lifters, to loud right now. Got the exhaust on now I am waiting for the break parts to come in.

Re: Hi Gang, Got A " what is this " question

Vacuum modulator for an automatic transmission.

No idea what year though. Looks a lot like one that I had on a Powerglide but then it also looks like one I had on a TH400. Probably common to a bunch of auto transmissions.

Probably not worth much for unknown condition

Yup. But some people keep stuff they find in case it is worth something to somebody. Or it may just have been in a box of hardware. I keep some miscellaneous chunks of metal and all kinds of nuts and bolts for when the urge strikes me to make something goofy, like this pig made from a propane tank with an expired proof test date and some feet from an old swing set. I could have used that vacuum modulator (properly modified) for the pig's snout. the spray paint cap I originally used fell off.

That is Priscilla, the Pink Pig, so my wife named her.

Re: Hi Gang, Got A " what is this " question

Thanks everyone for your comments and links. I thought that it was a Vacuum modulator for an automatic transmission also. I even showed him a VM on one of my 350 trans. But he wanted to know. He is a collector of parts he finds when he was working on cars back in the day. So thanks everyone, John

Re: Hi Gang, Got A " what is this " question

It would be foolish to toss out anyway. We don't know that it is junk and throwing out old parts is silly when there is always someone who could use it. If it has no value and you have no use then give away, not throw away. Could be the specific correct part for a restoration where the exact correct modulator has not been available for 20 or more years.
