Looking for the BEST coil for my needs. Engine is getting blown, and that adds 85 or so pounds.

1-I need a GOOD coil that will handle the weight and drive well on the road. I dont mind stiff, just want dependable.

2- At what drop, if any, Do I need to use lowering shocks with a front end drop?

Dennis 2 things to think about.

#1. Helper bags in your coils you have now to stiffen the ride up.
#2. Buy shock mounts and use stock shocks. These are the ones I have.

ECE. Get the big block springs. Try the search button for some of the questions you think may have been asked as there are dozens of threads related to shocks.

I've looked...no solid answers. ECE doesnt sell 3"..thats what I need. any others sell BB 3"

Thanks Andy...ECE guy said I didnt need mounts on front with drop spindles. I'm gonna get those 3" coils and the slight drop Belltech shocks anyway. Heard they're firm but not rash...

If you go with the shock relocator doesn't matter about the amount of drop. You use stock shocks.

If you do the helper air bags you want need the new springs.

I've used Belltech nitro drop shocks on my '92 chevy ecsb with a 5/7 drop and really liked them.

I have currently have Chassisworks Varishocks on my '69 along with the shock relocators that Andy suggested above and they are nice as well. I don't know if this is the case on every truck, but I had to 'persuade' my inner fenders a little to get them to fit with those front shock relocators. I'm running a BB with Hotchkis 1500lb/in springs in front and they are pretty firm.

can i just install them and pump them individually without running lines to a tank?

Short answer is Yes. I have the front 2 bags just ran the line to front of the spoiler and mounted the shreader valves. The fronts I don't need to adjust so I have them like this. Backs I have hooked to a on board compressor to fill them from the cab.
