DB sent you a PM

I will cut more than enough (@ 18") out of the third seal material to do the gaps on both sides of your truck and mail it to you for FREE.

I should have enough to do at least one maybe two more trucks so don't be shy about it.

Unless you have a "06-09 Civic seal tree" in your yard...

BESIDES we dog-leg cab builders all have to have three to get it done... so let's see how many we can do with what I have.

It'll be fun.

If you can do something nice in this life, why not try ~ rg

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

Local yard had an 08 sedan. Even though I read they were shorter I got all 4 and added them to my channeled freak machine. Really happy with this side. Worst part was peeling the old seal off.

Sent you a PM. Mailing it today.

I did both make-up pieces for my doors and had six 18" pieces and one 24" piece left over from the 07 coupe door seal.

I have five more 18" pieces to share after doobie gets his.

NO CHARGE - just paying it forward ~ rg

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

Gmc pauls is now selling the push on style for 60-66 trucks for $51.00 a pair. Says available jan 2016. It might be a better option now. I ordered the honda seals already though. www.gmcpauls.com/60-66rubber_weather_strip.htm

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

After installing the Honda weatherstrip, I had to remove all of the shims and re-adjust everything since I was way over center trying to accommodate the China-made aftermarket stuff. After a few days of re-adjusting everything...success! The driver side door opens and closes securely with ease. Now, onto the passenger side door.

I would like to know how these compare to the new push-on style now made specifically for the '60-66 trucks.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

I know everyone wants to keep things original but these Civic weatherstrips fit great without having to glue them in, and they are one piece. There is a small corner section that may not look original but I think they fit like a glove. I have a 65.

According to their site, the new push-on ones sold by GMCPauls (made by Precision) are made like originals, hence why I mentioned wondering how they compare to the Honda ones. I was planning to go the Honda route, but now that the others are out I'm not sure.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

Let us know if you try it. I had a Steele set and tried an original type from Precision, but neither one would allow my door to shut - just too much compression resistance.

I purchased a pair from Fred's truck parts and I would recommend them to anyone I payed less than 50 for the pair and installed them in minutes doors close great no need to slam door.

Has anyone tried the weatherstripping from a 03 Honda coupe? It looks like it doesn't have the molded corner.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

I bought the new chevy repop push on seals and I now have to slam my doors but I have less wind noise. My precision glue on seals I did not have to slam doors, but had a lot of wind noise. I think I will try a set of these Honda seals.

Who were your push-on seals made by?

Mine cost $4 at a PicknPull half price day but I paid a lot more for the foam stuff I'll be tossing in the garbage.

The picknpull website lists the cost as $3.19 per foot. Is that a typo? There are a few coupes near me, and if it was $4 a pop, total, it'd be worth the drive. But if they charge me per foot, I might as well buy brand new.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!

Ran across this thread today. Wish I had earlier. Could this be the end of my monthly ritual of trying to get my doors to SHUT? I fool with them for a while and think I got it better, but not really. Give up and try again next time I get the courage.

Having provided that worthless information, my question is that for a 1963 step side, the Honda seals may be a little short. Is that right?
Checked local junkyards in my area and can't find any but if the Honda door seals work like it appears in this thread, I'm SO interested.

Feedback appreciated.
