1950 - Installing Inner Cab Weatherstrip???

What is the secret to installing the inside cab weatherstrip? I have tried sliding it on with limited success but looking for a process or install sequence recommendation.

Thanks,

There is a channel that goes all the way around the inside of the cab, I believe it is call cab weatherstrip. If you look at the blue truck in the upper left it has a door strip and a cab strip. The channel in the cab that holds it is broken into 3 parts.

I am not clear if it should be one continuous strip or if the rubber is broken into 3 parts.

Thanks for the tip, I will track down some of that stuff. Does it wash off or is it just a mess

Question, there are 3 separate channels, where did you start or is there a sequence. I started at the top front and got it down to the floor on the front side but when I tried to go the other direction I got hung up half way down.

I also thought it was called wind lace but could not find it labeled that way on the parts sites

It washes off with a damp rag. Got mine at Menards.

I started at the open corner and slid it down to floor first then pulled it up and around. Make sure to really fill the channels and the rubber groves liberally.

It is called wind lace.

First, inspect the windlace channel to make sure it has an even gap all the way around. I have seen several that were crushed, making it impossible to get the windlace in.

I started at the bottom rear and used one of these tools to press it into the channel: https://www.dkhardware.com/chisel-en...uct-13834.html

I made up this little tool to make sure the channel is even all the way around, then used wd40 and started in the back upper corner. Worked very well.

Thanks for the tip, I picked up some of the Ideal Goop at Lowes then I made a mess gooping it on and I got one side completed in about 20 mins. It went much better than my last many attempts!

I also found a few crushed points in the channel that I had to open up. Another night and I will get to the other side done.
