Restoration of 72 burb finally done

Bought this 72 burb 350/350 auto out of a barn 3 years ago where it had been sitting since 1984. Was not running/no brakes/fuel smelled like cough syrup. Interior was MOLD black and somehow coons had gotten inside and finished off the interior. I restored it back to original except for the air dam and beauty rings. It came with the 3rd seat which I reupholstered in factory covers with the other 2 seats but did not install so I had some room to haul stuff to shows. Finished the restoration yesterday. It even had the original spare.

Wow, nice burb. Must not have been originally from Ohio or did you do a lot of bodywork. Looks GOOD!

Re: Restoration of 72 burb finally done

Have more picts just need time to downsize them. Thanks for the + comments - over 2 year restoration to original. Was an Ohio truck - I bought it from the original owner's estate. Was always inside. Had not be started or moved since 1984.
The air dam came from a 1986 chevy 1/2 ton pickup(chevy) - a few mods and it fit ok.

Re: Restoration of 72 burb finally done

There was some body work - and I found areas that had some work done previously - and some of it has the original paint so I did my best to preserve that - including leaving a few character marks and bubbles here and there.

I ended up repainting the bottom white and buffing the entire vehicle forever - very chalked. Had to fix a couple quarter size holes in the floor as well.

Re: Restoration of 72 burb finally done

Great job on the resto. I love the original look and although I'm not a fan of the front bumperettes on 71/72's they really look great on your Burb. Now its time to drive and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Don't be in a hurry when go for gas becuase someone will always be admiring and asking questuions about your Burb.

Re: Restoration of 72 burb finally done

Thanks
Flint - All seat covers were replaced with matching originals that matched and fit great from CARS #9961 front parchment, #9395 second/third row parchment
I have all 3 seats - did them all just have not put the rear seat back in yet.
