Post a couple pictures of the front of the engine , water pump / crank pulley , The power steering bracket you have is correct for a short water pump .

Re: 72 C-20 Help

I believe the double pulley on the p/s pump is for AIR trucks.
I believe one of them is still in the correct position for a non-p/s truck.

Re: 72 C-20 Help

Good timing. I was just static testing the pully alignment on my 72 C20. The engine is a replacement from unknown years ago and I can confirm the pully setup is original to the truck. But here you go. I bought an inexpensive Harmonic balancer from summit. It did not align correctly. Had Summit replace with a Summit brand balancer and everything laid out perfectly.
Remember, there is a short and long water pump that will make a difference. I think your PS pump might be one for the longer pump which I believe is a new variant for the 1st Gen SBC. On my engine, the inner pully grove is for alternator and WP Middle is the AC and WP. Outer grove is only from the crank to the PS Pump. I hope this helps.
Also the nut is missing on the PS pully but it is fully seated in this shot.
