Rim Question
I have a rim that fits well but not sure what the back spacing is. How do I determine what the back spacing is?

Put a flat bar across the back of the rim and measure down to the flange area where it would bolt up. The measurement from the flange to the flat bar, is your back space. For instance, you have a 10 inch wide wheel if you take the measurement we talked about and it is 5 the back space would be of course 5 and the front would be as well[or very close taking into account the flange thickness since some will want to get to technical]now if you move the flange inboard one inch your back space would now be 4 and the outer being 6, get the idea?

Don't forget that wheel width is measured from bead to bead and not wheel lip to wheel lip.
On a 10" wheel with 5" bs the front spacing is 6" and not the 5" suggested by hugger. Rule of thumb is add 1" to whatever rim is advertized as to get total width. |
