Fall Rod Run in Pigeon Forge Tn

The Fall Rod Run is on this weekend in Pigeon Forge, and I was wondering if any members are headed out there tomorrow (Saturday)?
The Spring show was a Rain/Snow affair which kinda messed up the outdoor section, but the weather this weekend is perfect.
I’ll be there when the open the doors

Been to Pigeon forge once on a motorcycle road trip. I now do everything I can to avoid it when I travel

Re: Fall Rod Run in Pigeon Forge Tn

The weather was beautiful, and so much to see.
I didn’t even go out onto “the Strip” to check out all the vehicle being displayed and for sale along it.

I agree with the “Traffic Nightmare” assessment, but as of the last three years, the GB/PF area has been the NUMBER ONE TOURIST DESTINATION IN THE UNITED STATES.
This being said, the show itself is very well organized and staffed.
My main reason for going yesterday was to get all the little parts I need to finish my truck, and was able to find all but two items.
In the future if you come, make sure your vehicle does well “Sitting in Traffic” because you will spend A-LOT of time sitting through Traffic Light cycles.
It’s sort of like enduring a Never Ending Spring Break.
Ok nuff said
I hope y’all have a good day

Re: Fall Rod Run in Pigeon Forge Tn

2020 was the last year we got to go. Our little dog is getting too old to travel and that keeps us from staying in a cabin and leaving her there for a little while. We never went to the Rod Run, but to the strip for 3 or 4 days. Yes, it is a traffic nightmare, but we would park middle ways and walk, walk, walk. Rest and walk some more. I miss it, but hopefully, later we can go back.

Yeah, next year I plan on doing that. Park mid way along the strip an make a day of walking up one side and down the other

See if this link works. It was the trip down the Wears Valley side of the parkway. Best one I've seen yet. Towards the end you catch a glimps of a super sharp 71 or 72 lifted K10 but not enough to get details on it. Lots of 67-72s in this ride. I wish I could have gone.

It's a beautiful area. I drive through there every year on my way to North Carolina, but I've never stopped.
