Why is it for our rigs that softride superlifts cost bout $150 per spring and Softride Skyjacker cost bout $250 per spring?

I have brand new Superlift 6" front springs that cost me $310 to my door.
I bought a pair of Skyjackers softride 6" for the rear yesturday (new) off craigslist for $200 for the pair but they would have cost $500 to my door.

Are they that much better?

Dang that is high, I only paid $185 per spring for my front and $165 per spring for the rear on my truck for 4" softride springs. Summit Racing sells Skyjacker and so 4Wheel parts can order them, where are you seeing them listed for $250 for each spring?

Ok I just checked the prices out and now I know why that it seems high to me becasue it is for a 6" springs not 4". It seems to me that everyone else don't charge any different for 4" or 6" springs just Skyjacker. I also wonder why? I have no experience with Superlift. I can only compare my Skyjacker to Tuff Country, Warn, Ranco, and Rough Country.

with a quick search this is the best price i saw, now you have to ship 80+lbs on top of that...... BTW this is per spring

Well i have brand new superlift 6" arched in the front and brand new skyjacker 6" arched in the rear. Both are softride. I cant see and diffence in quality.

well I kinda exagerated i have superlift installed in the front and the skyjacker are in the rear but they are still in the bed of the truck. Dont know if you read my last thread about my rear end trying to drive down my driveway. Anyway I'm waiting for a safer/flatter place to do the install.

BTW, The ones on "GQ" ride really smooth and they are cheaper quality

I now have the skyjackers in and they do ride better. I doubt its $200 better but it is a softer ride. It's boucier but i good bounce not a stiff bounce. I also put RS9000 shock back there so it could be that those are the difference too.

Bad new is that now the rear sits higher than the front. I keep trying to get this truck level and keep adding more lift. by the time i get it level I'll be able to put 44's under it

It looks level in this pic but on flat ground its about 3/4-1" higher in the rear.

You need a nice size toolbox with a heavy log chain, snatch block, hi lift jack, shovel tire chains extra u-joins, one extra hub, some extra oil, anti freeze and whatever else you can think of that you could need off road that you could put in the back.

I was just suggesting that you put about 300# of tools and off road equipment that would sit the back down a bit and the extra weight may even make it ride nicer, as well as better traction. My GMC sits real level and I like that except when I haul heavy stuff it sags in the rear prematurley (sp?)

Put some ORD zero rates in the front to level it out. You definatly need some 38's now.

Hope its not different springs. I just spent $310 on these new Superlifts.

No - zero rates are little thin blocks with offset hole & pin for the leaf spring pins.

You use them to shift your axle forward or backward along the leaf spring. Typically they are 1" to 2" thick.

They can be run centered as well. No need to shift the axle if it doesn't need it. It's kinda like a block but it actually bolts to your spring pack so it is very safe.

obi wan, the force is strong with you, but i'm going to the toyo 37x14.5. I dont like too much tire under the fender well.

37x14.50 will be nice. Most 37's are skinny which is a big Yuk.

everyone i've talked to says these toyo are excenptional nice riding tires. They are the only one i can find thatcan get a little life out of them that have width.

I hate the swamper im running now.
I've never gotten more than 15K out of baja claws

and those are the other 2 choices that have any width.

I have been happy with my PJ's. I run a Borgeson U-joint in the sterring shaft that has a built in vibration dampner. Works awesome.
