By free floating do you mean full floating? http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billav...ble/index.html there's a big ol bible on them and as for converting to a dually i see some people just using a big spacer so both tires fit now i am not sure if thats the right way to do it but if so here's a link for an example hope it helps http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=659176

I assume you have the factory No-Spin/Detroit Locker. You can get parts from Eaton dealers. www.eaton.com . The HO52 has a dual wheel cousin (HO72) with the same differential. The housing and shafts are shorter and brakes are different. But,I believe you could swap the outer parts (brakes/hub) from a dual rear HO72. If not, maybe Arrowcraft can help www.arrowcraft.com.

At this point, it doesn't really matter...with used gears, you cannot change or "adjust" it now. Trying to "tighten-up" the backlash will absolutely destroy the ring and pinion....and create a howl in the process.

If the backlash is already excessive, you need new gears to start with....and a professional to install them.

Do we know that he doesn't have a Dana 60?

Is this a leaf spring or coil spring truck?
