Rear end removal

I have rear axle issues on my 69 Burb so I got it pulled out but all I have left is to remove the parking brake cable from the brakes. What is the right way to remove them from the axle side? I can't seem to get the cable off.

Thanks!

Re: Rear end removal

I assume you have drum brakes. You have to pull the drums and take the brakes apart to get to the parking brake bracket and cable out from inside the drum. Once you get that done, you will be able to pull the cable out from the bracket and through the back plate of the drums. Hope that helps.
