Fuel sender supplier

Okay guys so I pulled the gas tank behind the seat on the 67 GMC and oh my God that varnished gas smelled so bad it stunk up the whole neighborhood. LOL but when I removed the sending unit of course it was rotted and the float barrel was completely missing. I need to order another one but RockAuto doesn't seem to carry it and LMC is so far behind in the orders I don't want to wait 6 weeks for it I got them parts geek and found one but asking you guys if you know of anywhere else that would carry it and be able to ship it reasonably quick

Re: Fuel sender supplier

Summit has some in stock, but I have no familiarity with the brands to recommend one

Re: Fuel sender supplier

I purchased the O.E.R. brand unit from Summit back in Dec of 2020 and haven't had any problems so far. After reading several threads on the forum that mentioned a few brands of new sending units failing within a year or so due to the solder on the brass floats deteriorating I decided to purchase a Jeep CJ plastic float (recommended in those threads) to replace the brass one that is part of the O.E.R. sending unit. Both parts came from and appear to be currently available from Summit.

Part numbers are:

O.E.R. Sending Unit - OER-6428362
Replacement (Jeep) Float - OMX-1772901

I’m not sure. My application is a 1970 C10.

Re: Fuel sender supplier

Have you tried GMC Paul? Or Truck and Car Shops of Orange Cal?
